About Us

Who We Are

The Obici House is the beautiful and historic former home of Planters Peanuts founder and Suffolk benefactor; Amedeo Obici and his wife Louise.  This property with bricks dating back to the 1890’s, was fully renovated to it’s original splendor and re-opened to the public in 2012 as a premier party venue.

Unforgettable weddings and parties have been hosted at the Obici House since the 70s. The sun sets over the Nansemond river for a mesmerizing view. This is a perfect location for a fairy tale historic wedding that you’ll never forget! This house is not just for weddings, we also host other private events as well. We’re perfect for corporate or church retreats and team building weekends.

This property was built by Amedeo and Louise Obici. Amedeo was an Italian immigrant and the founder of Planters peanuts.
